I read the first book, and just finished reading book 2. I have book 3 and will start on that as soon as I finish this review. I'm no a book critic just a SiFi nut, and I loved both books. Buy them, read them, it great. Is it as goof as Old Man's War, no, but it hard to put it down after you start.Product details

This second book of the series has less action and has a confuse narrative with three main characters. Suddenly, Walleye and June almost disappear from the story, and what happened with their supposed weapon against the A.I.
I hope the conclusion will be much better.
The first book started off a little slow then turned into a good mix of internal solar system politics, scheming, aliens and the Beserker series. I sure Vaughn was influenced by it and added some of his own twists. Very good read.
Captain Jon is successful in destroying his AI enemy. The captured ship has been put to good use but the devastation on war has caused great damage to their vessel. No he must repair and attack the human enemy.
BUT I'm love the new additions to the cast. Both from Earth and Makemake. Things are really starting to heat up in the Solar System. I just hope it doesn't mean the downfall of Mankind. Like why isn't anyone thinking of sending some sleeper ships out to a distant world as a backup in case the A.I. show up with overwhelming force.
As usual the author has brought the reader into a new sci-fi realm . Having an alien enemy use computers built by humans to conquer mankind is new to me as a reader and I have read many sci-fi novels over the years. this author also has several ongoing narratives that are excellent!
Awesome series! It started a bit slow, but just a bit of patience and you're in for a blast. I discovered I used all my time to listen to the audio-books, jumping from one book in series to another. The characters are well developed and the audio interpretation is amazingly good. It is the 1st time I have "read" this author, and for sure will be purchasing the other series he wrote. Good job!
This series just keeps getting better and better!!! It changes and evolves and is a new different story each time! I love it and it only gets better when you read it a second time. Do yourself a favor and add the Audible narration and hear this too!!! It's worth it to support the author to create great reads like this. Don't forget to put up some stars and review to show your support!!!
